Perfect sunrise
Dimmed morning whispers
Fluttering tear drops

The dead come calling
Today I am not listening
Savor the last of the gods

Night is here
Show me my resting place
It begins again soon

The never ending ache
That I cannot forget
All I need is a bite to eat
That would surely be a lovely treat
The constant overbearing burn
As my tummy continues to turn
They pass me in their lovely frocks
They look down on me with frowns and smirks
She is my age perhaps a little older
The gaze is undeniably colder
She looks like she has had her fill for the day
I wish I had something if only for just today
Now they are further ahead but I still feel their stare
Would have been nice to have someone care

The problems of yesterday are still here today
No rush, time facilitates action this is only a delay
As I sort through the emotions and chaos of the day
I ask myself, what else have I got to say
All I know is tomorrow is a brand new day
And I am damn well here to stay
