SUCCULENCE

I dare taste
I hope the best
Tender and moist
Decadence unparallel
Swim away will you
Within my ready palate

I BET YOU THINK THIS POEM IS ABOUT YOU

They are harsh and bitter
But this is what I have to say
Be sure many or even all
Will take it the wrong way

We are vultures and mercenaries
Gnawing at what God gave us
Barbaric is too kind a word for the human race
I hear you saying why am I making such a fuss

We claim to care about the environment
The ocean, the trees even that pesky subway rat
Those words are spoken every single day
We all know its yet another ploy and act

If I had a dollar for every time I heard "lets be green"
My pockets would be pouring money rain
Self denial and personal agendas drive us
Maybe it's just me, but the whole damn world seems so vain

Glory

Rustling leaves scattered
North wind that refuses to remain silent
Early morning sunrise
A waking discerning warmth
Cold water trickles down and jolts me up
Smell that coffee and toast
Good morning

DARK ANGEL OF MINE

At the gates of eternity
Lies a sinister hope
The promise of longevity

I revel in my lack of fear
Too long have I suffered
This will surely be my year

The secret lies in me
He shall come during the night
Maybe I will offer him a cup of tea

Whisk me away he shall
In this cold wintery night
Come morning, all will be quiet and dull.
